Abstract
:
The aim of the work is to accommodate and optimize a stand-alone photovoltaic (PV) pumping system based on a squirrel-cage induction motor instead of a de motor. This paper presents the problem of mismatching between the operation at PV available power and induction motor-pump system and suggests the solution. This mismatch leads to decrease the overall system efficiency. This paper solves of the problem by application of the direct torque control (DTC) technique using voltage source inverter (VSI) to control the speed, torque, and flux of the motor, The models of the ~V, motor, pump, VSI, and DTC control unit using MATLAB SIMULINK program are presented.
