Abstract
:
The investigation aims to study the modifications in alimentary canal of honeybee queen and worker and queen reproductive system during post-embryonic developmental period . During larval stage , the organs of alimentary canal has simple structure . The fore gut is longitudinal tube and the epithelium cell take cubic form . Stomodaeum valve open in the mid gut which occupy wide space inside the body cavity . The mid gut wall consists from simple cubic epithelium cells lining with peritrophic membrane and surrounding by undistinguished muscles . The ventriculus closes at the posterior part by pyloric valve . The hind gut consists from the ileum which contains six folds . The epithelium cells are longitudinal and undistinguished , lining from inside by thin chitinic layer and surrounding from outside with thin circular muscles layer .Rectum has many irregular folds extend to the interior .It consists from one epithelium cells layer lining by thin chitinic layer .Rectal pads not observed at this stage. During pupal stage , the fore gut is differentiated to a crop and proventriculus . The crop is characterized by many folds each consists from longitudinal epithelium cells group and muscles . Proventriculus is provided with thick chitinic teeth .The stomodaeum valve is exhibited as it closed . It consists from two epithelium cells layers with muscular layer between them . The midgut is distinct with longitudinal epithelium cells which have many folds . The peritrophic membrane is absent . The midgut cavity is empty , clear and free from any food contents . Pyloric valve is still closed . The ileum cells are characterized and chitinic layer is clearly observed with age increaseing . Rectum has many irregular folds and rectal pads are present in this stage .During adult stage , the tissues are characterized in conformity with function and food supply . Therefore , The anatomical structure is adapted with histological structure , The crop wall consists from longitudinal epithelium cells which has many folds . The proventriculus is ended by four mobile lips which has triangular form provided with many teeth and spins . It is lining with thick chitinic layer. The stomodaeum valve is open .The midgut consists from regular folds . The regenerative cells are presented in a large number. The muscles are distinguished. Pyloric valve is open. The ileum is consisted from cubic epithelium cells group. The rectum has many folds and lining by thin chitinic layer. The rectum cells increased in the upper part to make the rectal pads. During larval stage of honeybee queen , Longitudinal section in the ovary showed that the ovariols seem as mass of large cells surrounded by flat small cells .The ovary is enclosed by peritoneal sheath. During pupal stage, the ovariols are distinguished to two regions: Germarium region and terminal filament region. In virgen queen ,the histological studies showed that the germinative cells still unmaturate at queen emergence . In general , the type of food ademenstrated during larval stage was related with histological structure differentiation during post embryonic development of honeybee queen and worker.
